Interviews!

Cormac McCarthy drops a few noteworthy musings in his interview with the WSJ. I know, that’s Rupert Murdoch territory but get over it. For all the good in the interview, some of his musings reinforce that Wes Anderson partially based Owen Wilson’s insufferable Tenenbaums character on the guy.

Bill Simmons is one of the more tolerable writers in sports.  I know a backlash is building against the guy, but isn’t that the cycle now? People get big then someone else takes their place by tearing them down. Anyway, Simmons has a mammoth NBA book out and chats with AV Club. It’s particularly fun to read the editorial notes AV sneaks in for their non-sports-inclined readers.

Costa-Gavras has a new movie which I think is in the festival circuit at the moment and Criterion Collection released their gorgeous cut of Z last month. AV Club again on the interview. Here is a link to Criterion Collection if by chance you don’t know–you’re welcome.

Sam Pink interviews Molly Gaudry over at HTML Giant. Molly is a previous Emprise contributor and we here approve of HTML Giant.

And, Nicolle Elizabeth interviews our indefatigable Fiction Editor, Roxane Gay, at Fictionaut. Fictionaut is kind-of sort-of open to the public now. If you can get your hands on an invite take advantage, it’s a great place for writers.

Emprise has some more of our own interviews in the works. Follow us on Twitter or Facebook and we’ll keep you posted.
