Woman Unfinished

J.P. Dancing Bear

for Angela Hobbs

and he muses isn’t everyone unfinished?: and you decide now is a good time to run a finger or two through your hair: you are listening to Vivaldi over the speakers: everything reminds you of an old Cocteau film: your face feels like a mirror: does he see you or himself: the air is as black as an old Rolls Royce: speeding down the farm roads: he says this part always makes me cry: and points a thumb at the music: you want to turn it up: the waiter brings more champaign: you don’t remember being in a café: your friends are singing to you: the glasses are raised: you say work in progress: you say good: you say unfinished me.
